Recently Premier bid out and is coordinating a meter changeout program at Port of the Islands CID. The CID has water, wastewater, and irrigation utility operations. The Board recently acted to replace current, outdated meters that were inaccurate and constantly in a state of disrepair. They chose a remote-read meter that eliminates the need to manually read meters, allowing reads from a vehicle. The project will be in excess of $300,000 and involves the replacement of 825 meters for potable water and irrigation water that comprise the District’s reuse system. This community was looking to change out its aging water meters and budget was of primary concern. Premier’s proactive approach was to present the pros and cons of purchasing a product that would handle only immediate needs as well as one that, with reasonable additional capital in future, could be upgraded to a cutting edge product. Instead of purchasing the most advanced meter available or simply replacing current meters in kind, we supported the Board in making the balanced choice.
No Project Too Big or Too Small for Premier
